You learn something new everyday.

René Lacoste was a tennis superstar of the 1920s, a part of the infamous Four Musketeers who in 1927 succeeded in capturing the Davis Cup from the Americans. His impressive trophy collection included wins at Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the French Open. In 1925 in Boston, Lacoste made a wager with his team captain that if he won the match he would buy him an alligator suitcase. Unfortunately, for Lacoste, the alligator accessory had to wait but out of his loss came the nickname that would make him a household icon across the globe. Lacoste began sporting a small-embroidered crocodile, designed by his good friend Robert George, on his tennis blazers and people on the court quickly took notice. In 1927, Lacoste began manufacturing the perfect tennis shirt designed to beat the heat of the American summers. The original polo changed men’s sportswear forever, replacing the heavy long-sleeved starch classic shirt. The first Lacoste polo, known as 12.12, was white with a ribbed collar and short sleeves made of a light knitted fabric known as jersey petit pique allowing for greater movement on the court. This also marked the first time a logo was used as an essential part of the design element for a brand.
Lacoste didn’t only revolutionize the world of sportswear but also completely modernized the game itself. In the 1920s he invented the ball machine, but perhaps his greatest creation was the first steel tennis racquet that was then distributed in the United States by Wilson and would soon after become uniform world wide.
Sportswear will forever thank Monsieur Crocodile.
A Little Irony...on MJ
RIP Michael Jackson...Just a look back to show how influential his style was to the people of today. Its a lil ironic how all of a sudden this wave of Balmain jackets sparked up right before his death...None the less the jackets are hot and he definitely owned them by adding his spark his moves and his effortless perfomances each and everytime.

I dont mean to get on those ladies that strive to keep their "image" but seriously not to say, "were in a recession" its beside the point its about logic and reason...Are you gunna work your butt off for 2 weeks just to spend your whole check maybe even 2 to purchase a bag or shoes?

Matthew Williamson
, Personally I like to mix and match totally different pieces and it just LOOKS right to me. In fashion its not about matching the shoes with the shirt to match the jeans thats just waaay to matchy matchy and it looks kinda stupid. This outfit to the right is by far my favorite with the intricut detailed sequin to the bold rainbow herems and olive light sweater to top it off, its so simple yet states 1000 words. You can check out the rest of the line here
He did his thing with his Resort Collection 2010, Its bold colorful and a mix of both worlds and anyone who is lucky to have these garments travelling with them is one savvy chic doll!Tuesday, June 23, 2009

that experience.

hmmm? I'm 33, been designing about a decade, I've been livin in LA about 2.5 years now, moved here from Brooklyn. I ran
design departments in New York for Mecca USA, Echo, Zoo York, Rocawear etc, also co-founded Prohibit NYC in NY with
Dagan Ryan (Bodagan), this was my first non-corporate situation as well as my first entrepenural venture, I have'nt looked back
since. I Had a deal with the ROC for my denim brand Washhouse,co- founded the Greedy Genius brand of sneakers, and now
Passport...

Double Take X Charlie Brianna
A little while ago my firs fashion feature was on this chick named Charlie Brianna, I originally did a write up on her for her innovative creative carefree style. While on her blog a couple day's ago I seen yet another reason to snatch some stuff from her site, her dope sunglasses! Yes, of course the mind behind these bad boy's is Charlie a couple of the ones below ARE sold out but it's just a taste of what she's about to kill the game with. She's definitely waaaay ahead of her time and I can only show her love for doing the damn thing! Stay tuned and check on her blog from time to time to catch the new designs, and you can contact her via email for any info on the eyewear at CBrianna@tmo.blackberry.net Enjoy...!
Sucker 4 Aviators
I have an addiction I must admit, sunglasses and time pieces! With summer lurking around the corner I had to post about one of my favorite crafters of the aviator sunglasses. Here are some of Dita's recent releases, the ones above will run u a pretty penny of about $720, BUT they are limited release and oh yeah they're currently sold out. The ones below are a little more appropriately priced around te $300's. Enjoy...!
