LV x Kanye West

Crooks & Castles x Vans Moda Hi

You learn something new everyday.

René Lacoste was a tennis superstar of the 1920s, a part of the infamous Four Musketeers who in 1927 succeeded in capturing the Davis Cup from the Americans. His impressive trophy collection included wins at Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the French Open. In 1925 in Boston, Lacoste made a wager with his team captain that if he won the match he would buy him an alligator suitcase. Unfortunately, for Lacoste, the alligator accessory had to wait but out of his loss came the nickname that would make him a household icon across the globe. Lacoste began sporting a small-embroidered crocodile, designed by his good friend Robert George, on his tennis blazers and people on the court quickly took notice. In 1927, Lacoste began manufacturing the perfect tennis shirt designed to beat the heat of the American summers.
The original polo changed men’s sportswear forever, replacing the heavy long-sleeved starch classic shirt. The first Lacoste polo, known as 12.12, was white with a ribbed collar and short sleeves made of a light knitted fabric known as jersey petit pique allowing for greater movement on the court. This also marked the first time a logo was used as an essential part of the design element for a brand.
Lacoste didn’t only revolutionize the world of sportswear but also completely modernized the game itself. In the 1920s he invented the ball machine, but perhaps his greatest creation was the first steel tennis racquet that was then distributed in the United States by Wilson and would soon after become uniform world wide.
Sportswear will forever thank Monsieur Crocodile.

A Little Irony...on MJ

RIP Michael Jackson...Just a look back to show how influential his style was to the people of today. Its a lil ironic how all of a sudden this wave of Balmain jackets sparked up right before his death...None the less the jackets are hot and he definitely owned them by adding his spark his moves and his effortless perfomances each and everytime.

Michael Jackson electrified audiences with his smooth dance moves and his over-the-top style. Just take a look at the heavily festooned black lamé jacket he first wore to his Hollywood Walk of Fame Star dedication in 1984. (He also wore it at other public appearances throughout the '80s.) In recent months, celebrities such as Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift have been standing at attention in a similar style of jacket, albeit considerably toned down. For flashier stars like Beyoncé, only Balmain's eye-catching incarnation would do. Michael's influences were all over the runways this past season: in Givenchy's gold-studded jackets and in Louis Vuitton's sequined gloves. And for Michael's upcoming tour, Swarovski, who bedazzled the jacket above, was slated to embellish the costumes. Glitter, glam and theatrics—all Michael!

Expensive Ta$te

Viktor & Rolf
Louis Vuitton

Christian Dior John Galiano

For all you maaad craze heel fanatics that like to step out and make a statement, here are a few of some definite picks for the summer. From LV to C.Dior all these heels are sure to make a bold statement! I especially love the Dior's from the craft to the detail everything is just tied into one to make a bomb ass sandal! John Galiano is known for his off the wall style and his heels definitely are far from anything less, I love how everything that is produced from the designer is FEARLESS.

The only real question for all you ladies that die to portray the glamorous life ya know the ones that will get their hair done before they pay their electricity bill...dinner or shoes? I dont mean to get on those ladies that strive to keep their "image" but seriously not to say, "were in a recession" its beside the point its about logic and reason...Are you gunna work your butt off for 2 weeks just to spend your whole check maybe even 2 to purchase a bag or shoes?
...but...
"If you got it FLAUNT IT"

JIMMY CHOO X H&M

For many style lovers, owning a pair of Jimmy Choo stilettos in today's economy seems unrealistic. Styling on a budget has become a societal norm and we must now make a decision "dinner or shoes". Jimmy Choo has followed in the footsteps of many other deisgners and celebrities like, Madonna, Roberto Cavalli and Matthew Williamson (just to name a few). ""We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too. Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection - the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!" Tamara Mellon, Founder and President, Jimmy Choo."We adore Jimmy Choo's shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it's our first shoe designer collection. It's a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers." Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor, H&M."

Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson and his Resort 2010 Collection by far is my line of choice, Personally I like to mix and match totally different pieces and it just LOOKS right to me. In fashion its not about matching the shoes with the shirt to match the jeans thats just waaay to matchy matchy and it looks kinda stupid. This outfit to the right is by far my favorite with the intricut detailed sequin to the bold rainbow herems and olive light sweater to top it off, its so simple yet states 1000 words. You can check out the rest of the line here He did his thing with his Resort Collection 2010, Its bold colorful and a mix of both worlds and anyone who is lucky to have these garments travelling with them is one savvy chic doll!

Summer time, PASSPORT..?

One on One with the Infamous Mik Jagga. So he has this dope line coming reaaal soon called PASSPORT. Interesting name per say, but none the less edgy, full of fun energy and sophistication. I got a chance to ask him a couple questions about the line to get a little more insight about this highly anticipated line he say's to drop over the course of the next yr in a step by step series.

What will PASSPORT consist of?
The line will consist of Apparel, footwear, acessories ( sunglasses, wallets, bags) men's and women's

What was your reason for creating PASSPORT and what were your inspiration behind it?
I was ready to do a brand that was a direct reflection of myself
the inspirations behind it: I have spent most of my life travelling and learning so much about other cultures, the brand is really the sum total of all
that experience.

Tell us a little about Mik Jagga:
hmmm? I'm 33, been designing about a decade, I've been livin in LA about 2.5 years now, moved here from Brooklyn. I ran
design departments in New York for Mecca USA, Echo, Zoo York, Rocawear etc, also co-founded Prohibit NYC in NY with
Dagan Ryan (Bodagan), this was my first non-corporate situation as well as my first entrepenural venture, I have'nt looked back
since. I Had a deal with the ROC for my denim brand Washhouse,co- founded the Greedy Genius brand of sneakers, and now
Passport...

Last but not least when are you expecting it to be released?
Branded tee's and GOOD music collabo tee's release first week of july, shoes drop first week of september,
first full collection will come in February ( spr. 2010 )

With that being said, hop on board make sure you get your PASSPORT and were...OFF!

Dont get used to these...

Im not one to post video's of non related stuff but this was a must.

Umit Benan

Men Style Courtesy of: Fathers Day!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

Nothing better than to express some hot products, and pictures in regards to the men. They gotta look good great UP TO PAR! Men that I anticipate wardrobe from definitely would have to be people like Kanye, John Legend, Fonsworth Bentley. Some of my favorite male designers are Tom Ford, which we all know was the the master mind behind Gucci. Umit Benan who contributes his grunge with tailored excellence in each garment has an impeccable line I think everyone should check, even the ladies. Oliver People definitely has something worthy of hiding behind the lenses for, the classic timeless eye wear never cease to fail no matter what season. Enjoy...! Stussy, Gant, Michael Bastain: Baseball Jackets
Robert Geller: Leather Jacket

DSquared2Rag & Bone: Distressed Leather Bomber
Alexander McQueen: Transparency Frames

From Balloon animals, to Balloon Couture?

This has to be the dopest art I've seen yet...It seems Lady Gaga inspired this Japanese designer to innovate fashion and take it to the next level with a whole couture line...From the intricut detail to the creative force drive behind these timely pieces is unbelievable! I never was one to be into designing I stick to marketing, but if I could find somewhere to learn how to do this, maaan SIGN ME UP! The designer is unknown but I know that Gaga DID not create her bubble outfit which is down below she lowkey snagged the design from Hussein Chalayan, he did the whole bubble concept back in 07' go figure! Everyone always wants credit where credit is not due, SMH.

Pay attention to detail.

Feeling a little Nippy..?

All I can say is wtf?

Twist of Love

Whaaat...?

Follow Friday

VA$HTIE KOLA

So Twitter has a Follow Friday where u just suggest friends for ppl to follow, in a sense (so you can have more followers) lol. So I decided to do a Follow Friday on my blog, Va$htie anyone who knows a little about the industry may of heard her name before. She's a director (she directed "Letter to BIG") and many other videos. She was recently with Def Jam as well and before leaving she had her own project the video for "Us placers" with Pharrell, Kanye, and Lupe. I know Va$h for her style she's one of my #1 girls. She has that east coast vibe and tomboy kick and she expresses it through her clothing, and jewelry. If I could describe it I'd just say she DGAF from her pricey LV pieces matched with her thift store vintage garments...It's PRICELESS. Her blog is random ridiculous as well I try to check it as much as possible cause she is constantly posting funny, wierd pictures she encounters on a day to day basis just living the life in NY.

Since this is a fashion site, yes she does have her own clothing line Violette which represents her tomboy edge, but for the ladies. Its her version of fashion made for the individual that likes to rock both the baggy grunge with a girl twist which to me is Va$htie.

Seriously...?

This is a joke, Dee & Ricky's collab with Marc Jacobs has escalated in many ways than 1, definitely NOT a fan..smh. I peep the innovation but let's just leave it at the brooches.

Double Take X Charlie Brianna

A little while ago my firs fashion feature was on this chick named Charlie Brianna, I originally did a write up on her for her innovative creative carefree style. While on her blog a couple day's ago I seen yet another reason to snatch some stuff from her site, her dope sunglasses! Yes, of course the mind behind these bad boy's is Charlie a couple of the ones below ARE sold out but it's just a taste of what she's about to kill the game with. She's definitely waaaay ahead of her time and I can only show her love for doing the damn thing! Stay tuned and check on her blog from time to time to catch the new designs, and you can contact her via email for any info on the eyewear at CBrianna@tmo.blackberry.net Enjoy...!

Sucker 4 Aviators

I have an addiction I must admit, sunglasses and time pieces! With summer lurking around the corner I had to post about one of my favorite crafters of the aviator sunglasses. Here are some of Dita's recent releases, the ones above will run u a pretty penny of about $720, BUT they are limited release and oh yeah they're currently sold out. The ones below are a little more appropriately priced around te $300's. Enjoy...!
